Appearence: The first thing that people typically notice about Jared is his lack of a shirt. Typically he doesn't wear a shirt year round, part of it is probably due to the fact that he's always around fire types. His eyes are an extremely dark blue bordering on black with matching hair. He usually has on a pair of baggy black jeans and a bright silver chain holding onto his wallet. He does have a tattoo on his chest though only he knows what it's of and he doesn't share that information lightly. When he does decide to don a shirt it's usually dark, the favored being a navy blue and has even been known to wear a high collar white coat that resembles a trench.

Personality: Jared is quite withdrawn, even morose. Of course underneath it all he's quite nice even playful. He likes to have a good time with his friends and Pokemon, together. Now he's quite shy and honestly dislikes girls to the point that he'll often say he hates them, which isn't the truth. He does enjoy their company but he's fed up with them falling in love with him and winding up heartbroken because he'll never return their affections. He's not ashamed of liking guys either, honestly he loves it even if he gets annoyed when people mock him for his choice of Pokemon. He can tend to gloat, especially when he's proven some of his 'weaker' more adorable Pokemon hand another its tail on a platter. Despite all this he's very loyal to his friends, if they can get close to him because he does have a rather nasty habit of shoving people away, mostly fearing and thinking that they're simply using him for their own gains. Of course secretly he longs to find a guy he can love and will love him for that, but as for right now he's somewhat contented himself with only having his Pokemon as his companions so he usually devotes all of his time to training and caring for them.

History: Jared was born with an older sister to a rather happy family that raised Pokemon. His older sister was only a couple of years younger so there was a bit of sibling rivalry, as in who got what Ponyta to ride when it came time for them to start riding to help around the large ranch. This would get a little bad, including that they would block the doorways of each other in order to get the favorite Ponyta which was the smaller more docile one, the other one that the two could ride was a feisty smaller female Ponyta that had a nasty habit of crow-hopping a little before settling back down.
Things went a little topsy-turvy though Jared‘s 16th year. That‘s when he admitted that he was gay and his family shunned him, so much so that his father left without an excuse. His sister simply ignored him and his mother left him to himself. Well, actually he never admitted it, you see his family walked in on him kissing another guy. The other guy just so happening to be his sister's boyfriend. During this time he started spending even more time with the Pokemon, especially his Vulpix who he had named Senka. The Pokemon had been orphaned two months ago and Jared had been feeding her by hand and even teaching some little tricks. Senka was a small little Vulpix, but her parents had been Jared's mother's favorite pair of Ninetales.
After his father left, Jared started to do poorly in school (barely passing his classes) and in his social life, such as getting drunk often, so his mother sent him out with his Senka and a young Ponyta so he could shape up. He did after a few weeks of moping and decided after winning a few battles, catching most of his Pokemon, including his beloved Shiny Umbreon, Rune, that he wanted to leave Hoenn and started to wander, cutting off all contact with his family before he wound up in Illeote and finding his current home on his farm and the nearby gym, figuring he was now experienced enough, decided to settle down and hopefully start his life over.
