Today had been a drifting sort of day. Had started early this morning with caring for my Pokemon. After that I'd gone for a bit of a swim which had wound up with my beloved Gyarados kidnapping me and taking me for one hell of a ride. Not that I minded, it was comforting to stretch out on her back as she swam the seas. There was nothing that had bested that experience yet either.
As it was I was sitting on the docks, clad only in swimming shorts as I leaned against a peg that would usually be used to tie up a boat. Ruru, my precious Gyarados was lazing below the water, only her head was visible, upon which my adorable Lyra, a Purrloin, was curled up on. It was odd to think that a feline Pokemon actually liked the water. I shrugged a little, yawning and stretching widely before noticing a vending machine and realizing that I was rather hungry and thirsty. "Ruru, Lyra, stay." I murmured, the Purrloin glaring at me from half-opened eyes and the Gyarados blinked.
In reality I wasn't too worried about Ruru causing a ruckus, in the short time it took me to get to the vending machine and get a couple drinks and snacks knowing I'd have to share with my companions. I was actually worried about Lyra though, she was definitely a feisty one, but I suppose with Ruru watching her there wasn't too much to worry about. As I turned around I grunted when I came into contact with another person. I stopped, fumbling with the drinks and snacks for a couple seconds, nearly dropping them multiple times. I frowned heavily, looking down for the one who had surprised me. "Sorry about that." I murmured, more from politeness than truly meaning it. Well it certainly wasn't my fault after all! I don't have eyes in the back of my head and others should definitely be aware of themselves and their surroundings.

Perhaps I should have looked behind me before I turned around but in the end I saw no point to it. There were plenty of people and well, it seemed like it was pretty much every person for themselves today. I shook my head a little, eyeing the girl calmly. I frowned, lip twitching in annoyance. Oh so it was my fault eh? My frown deepened to the point that my brow furrowed. I shifted my stance a little, attempting to make myself seem large, of course I already has since I stood over six foot. It seemed to not phase her or perhaps she hadn't noticed with her rather snarky remark. Well, perhaps it wasn't really but that's how I decided I was going to take it.
An eyebrow lifted just a little, mouth parting to utter a retort when much to my surprise she simply flounced off. Huh, made me wonder why I liked people. I shrugged it off, content to go my own way. It was no loss for me after all, I'd dealt with worse. Like my father when he'd been alive. I sighed, shaking my head a little. Now you can imagine my surprise when I went to take a step and I felt something catch against my foot. I blinked, looking down only to find a pokeball there. I frowned, thinking. Could it belong to that rude little girl? Well, it hadn't been there before the little altercation. I almost groaned, wanting to leave it there and have her deal with the panic and in a way punish her for being rather rude to me, even if I hadn't been the most polite one.
I grumbled a bit, bending to grab the pokeball after shifting the snacks and drinks to one hand. I couldn't let the pokemon inside suffer though. Who knew how attached it was to it's trainer and just how panicked it could be become if it was lost or even thought it was abandoned. I eyed it curiously, wondering what type of Pokemon even lived in it. Hard to say really. Of course why did I care? Ah, yes, I was a trainer and for all I knew she could be a future rival of some sort. I nearly sneered, though I did smirk as I started walking after her. As if I'd ever really have to worry about someone like her. Ruru and I were nigh on unstoppable when we put our minds together.
I glanced through the people, looking for the girl, her pokeball hidden by my hand. Now where had the little brat gotten to? Well I suppose that wasn't too fair to her. For all I knew she could have been older than myself but I doubted it. If anything it was because she was shorter than me and most people got similar treatment. I thought I had spotted her and grinned when I realized I was right, she'd hadn't gotten too far in the end it seemed. Far enough though that Ruru and Lyra would likely be upset with me. I reached out, tapping her shoulder only twice before stopping and offering a rather charming smile. "If you're going to tell others to be careful perhaps you should follow your own advice." I said simply, extending my hand to give her her pokeball back, only, things weren't to go the way I had planned.
See, out of the corner of my eye I noticed a cream and purple blur going to for the ball. It launched, catching the ball neatly in her mouth before trotting a few feet away and looking quite prim and proper. I frowned heavily, eyeing the Purrloin. "Lyra...." I said simply, the feline's gaze flicking to me, an ear of hers twitched but she refused to budge. "That's not your's Lyra, give it." I commanded, the Pokemon merely shrugged at me, curling her tail around her, almost as if she was daring either of use to chase her. I glanced at the girl and sighed a little. "Sorry about her." I muttered, this time actually meaning it. It was my fault after all, since it was my Pokemon, even if she had a mind of her own.

I almost felt like returning to Ruru and swimming off again. There really was nothing better in my mind. I sighed heavily, glancing out over the ocean. Why did I have to decide to be a good guy? Oh right, for the sake of the Pokemon. I grumbled a little, eyeing the ball and once again wondering what in the world was in it. I thought about the girl, debating, probably something I had no interest in. You know one of those cutsey-types that most girls were nuts over. I chuckled softly before silencing myself. I suppose I really shouldn't talk, or think, like that considering I was semi-guilty of the same thing. Considering quite a few of my Pokemon fit that category, such as my Glaceon, Wooper, and even my Purrloin. Or at least I thought they fit the category, a few people would likely disagree.
If I had to guess I would say the girl was still rather irked with me. Or perhaps she was merely surprised to find me again so soon? No doubt I would be too and it wasn't like I really wanted to see her again. I mean really! I didn't have eyes in the back of my head so how the hell was I supposed to be able to see behind me? Why was I still even on that idea? I didn't know but it was bugging me. I did lift an eyebrow, a subtle little smirk turning up a corner of my mouth when she was stuttering over her words. Oh my, my, my. Silly little thing wasn't she?
Sadly though, since my Purrloin was misbehaving it didn't seem like I could keep being the superior one. I glanced at her when she said it had her most aggressive pokemon in it. Once again I was curious what the pokeball held. "What one is it then?" I couldn't help it, my curiosity had gotten the better of me. Of course I was still expecting something more along the lines of a Raticate with a temper problem. I glanced at the snacks I still had and smirked a little, crouching and shaking the bag. "C'mon Lyra." I murmured, trying to entice the feline. Her ears where twitching as she eyed the bag before padding a couple feet closer. "C'mon, I got you your favorite kind!" I continued, rather pleased with the progress. The Purrloin kept approaching and when she was within reach I scooped her up, even with her disgruntled yowl and claws in my hand. I grimaced, prying the ball from her mouth, receiving a rather harsh nip as she glared at me. "Well you shouldn't steal stuff." I muttered to her before offering the pokeball to the girl. "I'm Stefan by the way." I said simply, deciding that I could be polite for the time being, especially since Lyra was eyeing the ball, obviously wanting to steal it again.

Oh my, was the little girl onto my game? I had noticed her frown when I had smirked. So she was a rather observant one wasn't she? I was waiting rather patiently for her to answer me and I was wondering for a moment if she even was going to before she surprised me. A Gyarados eh? That was rather surprising. I looked at her sharply, looking over her carefully. Gyarados weren't a common pokemon for many to carry, unless someone had been of my clan. Was she part of it? I frowned, thinking. It was nigh upon impossible. Ruru and I had destroyed the clan so that only three people had survived. Myself, and my younger siblings, the twins Ryota and Ryoka. Perhaps, was she Ryoka? No, Ryoka had dark hair same as myself. But it could have been dyed in the years since I saw my sister last. No, the eye color was all wrong though.
I was thoughtful as I held onto a mildly squirming Lyra. She seemed a bit surprised and unsure of herself when I had introduced myself, if partially and it was something I was glad of. What if she had been a remnant of my old clan, searching to hunt down the murderer and destroyer of it all? I knew I had to get to the bottom of this.
I blinked, a little surprised she had asked if my had was alright. I nodded and smiled. "These scratches are a piece of cake, especially after training a Cloyster and Kingler." I chuckled softly. Not to mention a very stubborn and unthinking Gyarados. I nodded when she thanked me again and I frowned. I knew I had to act quickly though. "Hey by any chance have you heard of the clan called Shadowstalker? Supposedly they were huge of a few years ago and then nadda. Heard they used to raise Magikarp and Gyarados as well." I shrugged it off, perhaps it was a bit random and who knew of the clan better than I? I wasn't expecting much though, I was hoping for her to say she knew nothing of them.
I wasn't planning on letting her know that I had been the heir to it all though. Oh no, I had left that life behind me even if it kept trying to come back to haunt me. At least, I was going to try, except I suppose Ruru, my Gyarados had decided otherwise. I heard her roar and I covered my face with a hand, sighing heavily. I could hear a few screams from people that had been surprised by a sudden appearance of well, one of the most feared water pokemon as I turned, spotting her working her way along the docks, still in the water.
No doubt in my mind was there that was looking for me either. She would on occasion summon a small ball of electricity in her mouth before sending it across the docks, not trying to hurt anyone persay, but she was trying to get people of the way. "I can't have a moment's peace." I murmured as Ruru caught sight of me, crawling onto the docks and towards me, drenching myself and Lyra in water. I set Lyra down though, knowing that she'd be more interested in drying herself off than causing more trouble now, which was proven when she shook off the excess water and then proceeded to lick herself dry.
I grumbled a bit, glaring at Ruru. "I wasn't going to be gone for long you little brat and you didn't need to scare the dickens out of everyone." I chided the Gyarados who actually looked rather contrite about her transgressions. I sighed, patting her scaled neck. "Don't do it again." I muttered, glancing at Kaida. Well, great, she knew of my prized companion now and if she knew anything about the Shadowstalkers, which I had so stupidly brought up, she would very likely be able to put two and two together. I could always run, grab Lyra, get Ruru back in the water and we'd be off before anyone could catch us. Of course I was also curious how Kaida would react to the sudden appearance of the only other Pokemon I had with me for the time being. Although, their behavior today made me quite embarrassed to say that I was their trainer. Of course, what sane person wouldn't feel the same way?

Kaida looked at Stefan curiously as he spoke, asking if she knew about a clan called Shadowstalker and that supposedly they use to raise Magikarp and Gyarados as well. It was a very random question and Kaida had a feeling there was a reason as to why he asked. Did he think she was a member of this clan or something? "...Shadowstalker? I'm afraid I haven't heard of them. Is there a reason you wanted to know if I had?" Kaida asked curiously.
Kaida nodded, glad to know that the scratches he had gottenfrom his Purrloin weren't much trouble for him. "I'll bet. You know, I haven't trained either of those species of pokemon yet. I am training several different types though, I try to train all types and have a well balanced team." Kaida said with a thoughtful look. "So what other pokemon do you train?...if you don't mind me asking of course." Kaida asked.
Suddenly a loud roar could be heard and people screaming. Just what was going on? It sounded like a Gyarados roar...which was interesting since that is the pokemon that they were just talking about.
Kaida's eyes widened in surprise when she saw none other then a Gyarados working it's way along the docks...well, seeing a Gyarados on the docks instead of in the ocean wasn't something you saw everyday. The Gyarados headed straight towards them and came right over to Stefan, drenching him and his Purrloin in water.
Unfortunately since Kaida was standing near Stefan she also got drenched in sea water from the massive water pokemon as it rushed over. Kaida groaned and then let out a sigh as she started to wring out the excess water from her dripping wet hair. Then she looked up at Stefan's Gyarados and spoke. "Thanks for that...I didn't realize I needed a second shower today." She said sarcastically and with a frown.
Kaida had then noticed that Stefan had set his Purrloin down and the feline immediately started to lick herself and shake off the excess water. Kaida glared and tightened her hold on her pokeball as she looked over at the Purrloin, making sure to kept a close eye on the evil feline just in case the pokemon decided to try and steal her pokeball again.
Stefan looked a bit upset that the Gyarados had appeared, giving the water Pokemon a glare. He then proceeded to lecture the Gyarados about scaring people and to not do it again. It was quite obvious that this pokemon belonged to him. Is this one of the reasons why he had questioned her about that clan?...Was he connected to them somehow?
Kaida turned to Stefan as she spoke. "So you have a Gyarados too." Kaida stated with a raised eyebrow as she then let a small smirk form across her lips, just like Stefan had done to her not long ago. "Is this the reason you asked if I was a member of that clan you spoke of?" Kaida asked with a knowing look on her face.
"Hmm...Let me guess, your a member of this clan aren't you?...Did you think I was a member of this clan too because I have a Gyarados as well?" Kaida spoke with a curious look. Kaida was quite good at putting things together so the fact that he had a Gyarados and was just now speaking about a clan that raises Gyarados to see if she knew about them wasn't overlooked by her.
